A South Bronx ACES special educator transformed a localized high school internship program into 720Connects, a sprawling nonprofit. What began in 2017 as a localized classroom effort to give 10th, 11th, and 12th graders hands-on work experience has blossomed into a formalized non-profit organization.
Since 2017, 720Connects, has evolved into a nationwide initiative that empowers adults with intellectual disabilities with vital workforce development and employment opportunities across ten states.
Today, the initiative provides comprehensive workforce training, career development, and sustainable employment opportunities for intellectually disabled adults. It operates across the following states: Alabama, Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
